The upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive title Stellar Blade has been a hot topic among gamers for the last couple of days. The game will launch on April 26, 2024, and the two-hour demo of the title is now available for players looking to try it out before deciding if they want to buy it or not.
Players have loved the game so far and have appreciated the gameplay and combat, among other things. One other major attraction is the playable female character Eve. The character has been praised by many, but a large portion of gamers aren’t happy with her portrayal.
Eve Might Be the Main Attraction of Stellar Blade, But She Is Also the Problem
The portrayal of female characters has always been a controversial topic in video games, and it is no different with the female lead protagonist of Stellar Blade. The game is one of several highly anticipated titles, and some players trying the demo have said they haven’t seen anything other than the character that’s being talked about much, and that’s a problem for the game.
While the game is also being compared to Bayonetta and NieR Automata, the looks of Eve are the most talked-about things. In a reply to a user about Eve’s comparison to Bayonetta’s protagonist, a player said that Bayonetta’s lead character wasn’t the “sole reason” people praised it, and it also wasn’t the purpose of her design.

Some have said that Eve’s outfits are also a bit odd, and she doesn’t appear to have much on, further fueling the game’s controversial protagonist.
Players have also said that Eve’s design is not good. They have said that instead of relying on making the character “hot” and “good-looking,” the developers should have spent more time on the gameplay, so it would make the game better than appealing to one part of the gamers.
Fans of the Game Don’t Agree With the Criticism
Despite the criticism surrounding Eve, players have defended the game, saying that some people are only looking for something to bash the game for. Players have also praised the combat, gameplay, graphics, and environment of the game.

Players said that the same people having problems with Eve in Stellar Blade never talked about the same things in Baldur’s Gate 3 and other games. Players have also called out IGN France for calling Eve “a sexualized doll by someone who has never seen a woman.”
Players have said they have enjoyed the game for what it offers in terms of gameplay, expressing that it has “substance” and they aren’t playing it only because of Eve. Fans have called the game beautiful and also praised the developers.
