The upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive Stellar Blade is all set to release on April 26th, and the fans are excited. There has been a lot of hype around the game, especially after the release of the demo, which was launched on March 29 and has been massively successful.
Players have loved the combat and storytelling and have also praised the beautiful environment of the game, among other things, as per what they have seen in the demo. Stellar Blade‘s Hyung-Tae Kim has revealed that he made the decision that made it possible for fans to try the game.
Stellar Blade Director Was the One to Decide to Release a Demo
In an interview, Stellar Blade creative director Hyung-Tae Kim was asked about the demo version of the game and if there was an internal discussion and consultation about this decision with Sony. Hyung-Tae Kim revealed that he decided to make a demo version of the game and not Sony. He added that the demo is just a little part of what the game has in store for players.
He said, “It was my decision to release a demo version,” adding that he wanted to give players a demo of what the game is all about and “Since Korean console titles are so rare,” it was the studio’s duty. Kim also said that players can not understand everything about a game just from watching videos, no matter how many, and they need to play themselves.
This decision from the developer has turned out to be right, as its success has got players more excited about the full game, and the demo will possibly be the biggest reason why a large number of players will purchase the game. There was also a lot of skepticism about the game, which has been eased by the demo and will garner more sales of Stellar Blade.
The Demo Is Just the Start and There’s Much More in the Full Game
The demo version of the game is nearly 60–70 minutes long and starts from the beginning, allowing players to play until the first boss fight. The progress made in the demo carries over into the full game. Hyung-Tae Kim said that the demo is just the opening section of Stellar Blade, as it is not possible to capture every aspect of the game and allows players to check how the game works.
He added that the game will become “deeper and more varied” after the demo, and players should consider trying it out as a “small taste.” He also said that players will be able to equip up to four gears in the main game. Players can also focus on all of these gears in speed, and they would be able to link up combos that would not be possible normally.
Kim mentioned that even if players feel there’s something in the trial version, they should look for the main game because there is a planned day-one patch that will improve the overall game and make it more thrilling and enjoyable.
