Zack Snyder is currently one of the most prominent directors in Hollywood, garnering both praise and criticism. While he has demonstrated skills in directing a specific type of film, his work has also faced its share of criticism and it’s not hard to see why. He has worked with many actors during his run in the DCEU, and that especially includes Ray Fisher, who recently celebrated the anniversary of the legendary Snyder Cut edition of Justice League.
Zack Snyder has faced criticism, with some labeling him a ‘hack’ for his film portrayal and perceived fixation on unnecessary themes and biblical imagery. This was pretty much evident in the DCEU film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. That said, his version of Justice League released a few years ago proved to be a huge success.
After contentious clashes with Justice League director Joss Whedon, actor Ray Fisher found solace in Zack Snyder as he starred in the 2021 movie. However, amidst trials and allegations, Fisher eventually departed from the DCEU, following in the footsteps of Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot.
Ray Fisher Celebrates The Anniversary of Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League effectively fixed all the wrongs that were prevalent in the 2017 theatrical version of the film, directed by Joss Whedon. Fans especially loved Ray Fisher’s portrayal of Cyborg in Snyder’s version, dubbing him as the heart of the film.
The film was not even going to see the light of day until fans started the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign that ultimately convinced Warner Bros to release the 4-hour-long edition of Justice League, which proved to be the swansong for the DCEU.
Ray Fisher took to Twitter on the occasion of the three-year anniversary of Zack Snyder’s Justice League and made it clear he couldn’t believe the film ever saw the light of day.
‘‘Happy Anniversary! Still can’t believe y’all made it happen. Forever grateful🙏🏽 #ZSJL”

Ray Fisher Isn’t Worried About His Future in Hollywood
After departing from the DCEU, Ray Fisher accused director Joss Whedon of exhibiting inappropriate behavior on the sets of Justice League. Fisher alleged experiencing racism and mistreatment during his time working on the 2017 film, contrasting his experience with Whedon to his positive experiences with Zack Snyder.
Following his departure from the role of Cyborg in the DCEU, Ray Fisher did not appear in any movies for a considerable period. However, he later struck a deal with veteran director Zack Snyder to star in Rebel Moon. Despite his absence from the screen, Fisher expressed in an interview with DiscussingFilm that he is not worried about his Hollywood future.
“It gets a little bit frustrating for the reps sometimes because I don’t audition for a ton of things. I only go after the things I feel passionate about. So, it’s a blessing to have found a home and collaborators like Zack and some of the other folks I’ve been blessed to work with throughout my career.”
He further continued,
“And if those are the folks I’m fortunate enough to work with for the remainder of my career, I would be in heaven!”
As the interview progressed, Fisher talked about how Zack Snyder is one of the greatest directors out there. Stating that Snyder works with the same people that he trusts and believes in, Fisher was quite happy to have worked alongside the director.
