The time to put that medallion on the Kaer Morhen tree has finally come as Henry Cavill announces his departure from The Witcher franchise. After portraying Geralt of Rivia for more than 4 years, the Man of Steel actor finally put down his sword.
The new actor set to replace him is none other than Liam Hemsworth, who will take up the mantle when season 3 ends. Fans however want Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen as the new Geralt of Rivia since he is one of the few underrated actors worthy of the role.

Even though Henry Cavill had allegedly stated that he is ready for the 7-year contract for the role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher franchise, some roots seem to have shaken the foundation. Many people claim that the alleged insane amounts of money that the actor will receive for working in DC made him change his mind. Why Mads Mikkelsen Is The Perfect Actor For Geralt of Rivia
Mads Mikkelsen is considered by most people as an underrated actor. Fans claim that he is always seems to be the second choice as he is considered for a recast of a previous role all the time. Mads Mikkelsen replaced Johnny Depp in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) when the latter was removed. Liam Hemsworth, on the other hand, is 32 years old, with much less experience in films compared to Mads Mikkelsen.
There has been no official word from the Studios regarding the fans’ suggestions as Liam Hemsworth officially joins The Witcher family from Season 4.
The Witcher Season 3 will air around the summer of 2023 on Netflix and will be the last time Henry Cavill picks up the silver sword as Geralt of Rivia.
