Ever since James Gunn revamped the DCU, leaving fans bereft of Henry Cavill’s Superman in the process, there’s occurred a marked clash of opinions within the fandom. While some appear to be pleased with David Corenswet being the new torchbearer of Superman’s legacy, others – still mourning Cavill’s loss – have been less welcoming.

Corenswet even appears to be eclipsed by his predecessor owing to the striking similarities in their appearances. But while they were busy debating which actor makes a better Clark Kent, fans seem to have overlooked an elemental part of the upcoming Superman film – Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane.

While the jury still seems to be out on whether David Corenswet would do justice to Superman or make DCU bosses regret dropping Henry Cavill, Rachel Brosnahan seems to be the perfect choice for Lois Lane.

Brosnahan is set to depict the star journalist of Metropolis who has even the Man of Steel’s heart melting into a puddle, and so far, she’s nailing the look garbed in the character’s signature purple outfit. And it looks like she has the fans’ seal of approval (via DC Perfect Shots on X).

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star recently gushed about joining forces with James Gunn and how his forthcoming Superman reboot “is being made with so much love.” “I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Every single person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman.”

Hope you’re ready for a “feisty” Lois Lane because Brosnahan is ready to serve.

Rachel Brosnahan & David Corenswet to Have Creative Liberty

We all know what a stickler for rules Cavill used to be, after all, it was this infallible loyalty to the source material that made the Justice League star him. Unlike him, however, the new Man of Tomorrow is believed to bringing his own creative spin on things.

In a conversation with Extra, Brosnahan, 33, confessed that both she and her co-star Corenswet are looking forward to “putting [their] own stamp on things” in Superman: Legacy.

“We’ve been having a lot of great conversations, David and I, with James Gunn, the director. We’ve been talking a lot about where this project fits into the canon of the Supermans that we know. So hopefully, this’ll be… we’ll be putting our own stamp on things.”

In a separate interview with ET, the House of Cards star stated, “We’re excited to both put our own spin on things and honor the material we love so much.” So, rest assured that they’re not going to be led astray from the comics either.

Superman: Legacy will be out in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
