Demon Slayer fans have a lot to account for with the upcoming three movies and an extremely successful fourth season. The success that the anime has been seeing makes it one of the most loved pieces of media in the anime industry. The way Ufotable handled the project made it an entire masterpiece to watch.

Whether it is through a movie or an episodic run, Koyoharu Gotouge’s series getting turned into an anime became the best decision. The way a path has been paved for the series because of its anime isn’t something many others have achieved at such a grand scale, especially because its near-perfect artistic style covers up blemishes many fans miss out on.

Demon Slayer’s Anime Runs Its Series

The way Ufotable manages to enhance Demon Slayer is not an easy feat to achieve. The multiple anime original sequences and the above-and-beyond animation together create an anime that is captivating. If something is beautiful to look at, its flaws become somewhat distant and avoidable. Koyoharu Gotouge’s series is no different. In the midst of beautiful animation and breathtaking character designs hides a story that could have been much better.

From Tanjiro’s character to Muzan as a villain, there was much for the series to perfect but was left out with rough edges. The story isn’t as strong and the characters seem overall bland with a few expectations. The story is just not as strong as the animation and had a different studio taken charge, the chances of its success could have declined.

The way Demon Slayer is so famous right now, it couldn’t have been the approach any different from what it is now. There was so much room for growth for so many characters and the story itself needed to be stretched out but just couldn’t.

Black Clover’s Unfortunate Fate

While some mangas get successfully enhanced with the anime adaptation, not all of them get as lucky. Sometimes, adaptations just don’t work out. Berserk, Tokyo Ghoul, Seven Deadly Sins, and many others fall short as compared to their immensely popular and breathtaking mangas. Although the Black Clover anime is nowhere near bad, it deserved much better.

Studio Pierrot is good with animation, yet there are many ways in which it is limiting. Even for Bleach fans, there is much of Tite Kubo’s artistic prowess that gets missed in the midst of animation and the same can be said for Yūki Tabata’s creation.

Black Clover has a lot more reliance on it, especially with the manga. The writing and character growth is one to be commended and there should be no doubt it deserves more credit. The story has a flow unlike any other despite being just another Shonen manga.

Black Clover and Demon Slayer are available to watch on Crunchyroll.
