From Succession to Deadpool 3? That’s quite a jump!
The hit HBO series, Succession, is currently in its final season as a few episodes remain before the cast says goodbye for good. The cast of Succession includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen, and so on. Now that the show is inching towards its end, fans are looking forward to seeing what the actors they have gotten attached to have next on their agenda.
Matthew Macfadyen is already moving on to bigger things. His fans will be pleased to learn that after Succession ends, the actor will be seen in the ensemble of a much-awaited superhero flick – Deadpool 3. That’s right, Matthew Macfadyen is reported to star alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as they reprise their respective, iconic roles.
Matthew Macfadyen Joins Deadpool 3
Matthew Macfadyen plays the role of Tom Wambsgans, the husband of Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy, played by Sarah Snook. And now, Macfadyen is all set to put his talents into Deadpool 3. According to a report by Deadline, the actor will be seen in the upcoming installment of the Deadpool franchise, although details about his role have not been revealed.
“…Sources tell Deadline the Emmy winner is the latest addition to Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3… It is unknown who Macfadyen will be playing.”
Macfadyen’s performance as Tom was quite appreciated by the audience. The fact that he won an Emmy Award and a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama is enough proof of that. Right now, Macfadyen’s fans have nine episodes of season 4 remaining and if episode 1 was any indication, things are only getting better! The first episode was released on March 26 and drew in the highest viewership ever recorded for the series.
More News about Deadpool 3
Deadpool 3 will be the franchise’s official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is going to be directed by Shawn Levy who has previously worked with both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. While Jackman’s return as Wolverine already has fans hyped up for the release, the R-Rating of the film is like icing on the cake! The cast of the film also includes Zazie Beetz, Emma Corrin, and Leslie Uggams.
Since Wolverine met his end in the 2017 film Logan, Deadpool 3 will not touch that part of the storyline at all. Reynolds and Jackman released a video confirming that the upcoming film is a “totally separate thing” and stated that “Logan died in Logan; not touching that.” Jackman also talked about reprising his role in Deadpool 3 and where it all fits in the storyline. The actor stated on the Jess Cagle Show,
“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines. Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science. So, I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.”
We are looking forward to seeing what the Deadpool 3 team has in store for us. And now with the cast slowly unraveling, the excitement is only reaching new heights with every update!
Deadpool 3 is set to release on November 08, 2024, and you can stream Succession on HBO and HBO Max.
