Marvel Studios knows how to get fans’ attention towards its upcoming projects. Recently creating a buzz surrounding The Fantastic Four, Marvel shared a Valentine’s Day card-themed announcement via Instagram, featuring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn. The post visibly promoted the undeniable chemistry between Pascal and Kirby’s character.
It seems Marvel Studios is going to focus on Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm’s long-lasting relationship in The Fantastic Four. But meanwhile, fans seem to ship Kirby’s Sue Storm with another MCU character of Latin heritage. It’s none other than Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, with whom Sue had a brief romance as per the comics.
The Undeniable Chemistry Between Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby
Following the plotline of Marvel Comics, the Studio is coming up with their new The Fantastic Four movie featuring Pedro Pascal. In a new Instagram post designed as a Valentine’s Day card-themed announcement, Marvel Studios assembled Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as their stellar cast in the upcoming movie.
The post seemed to hint at the undeniable chemistry between Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby‘s Sue Storm. As per Marvel Fandom, Kirby’s Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman turned into a superpowered adventurer after her boyfriend and scientist, Dr. Reed Richards, took her into space in the stolen rocket Marvel-1, where the radiation mutated her and made her invisible.
Thereafter she continued her romance with Reed Richards and became a part of the Fantastic Four, with whom she explored space, time, and alternate dimensions while saving humans from science-based threats. Thus, as Marvel Studios’ post on Valentine’s Day seemed to showcase Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm holding hands, fans began wondering if the movie would narrate their love story.
Fans Shipping Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm With Tenoch Huerta’s Namor
Meanwhile, although fans have been spoon-fed the romance between Reed Richards and Sue Storm via Marvel Comics, they have also been exposed to Sue Storm’s brief romance with Namor. Thus, despite Marvel Studios shipping the official relationship between Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, fans seem to ship Sue with Namor.
Focusing on the alternative storyline teased by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Sol Brodsky, Stan Goldberg, and Artie Simek in 1962’s Fantastic Four #4, fans recall the time when Namor was love-struck after he saw Sue Storm. According to Marvel Comics, Namor learned that Atlantis was destroyed through atomic testing done by humans. Thus, with his thirst for revenge against the surface dwellers, he ventured to take revenge.
That’s when he came across Sue Storm and got immediately smitten by her. He even offered to stop his attack on humans if she agreed to become his queen. To which Sue accepted the offer as a form of sacrifice, but eventually by issue #6, Sue and Namor admitted their feelings toward each other, which began a love triangle between Sue, Namor, and her long-term boyfriend Reed Richards.

Hinting at this storyline, fans seem to ship Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm with Tenoch Huerta’s Namor. Taking to X, netizens seem to point out how both her romantic choices according to MCU have been from the Latin heritage (Pedro Pascal being Chilean and Tenoch Huerta being Mexican). More interested in the raunchy affair, over Reed and Sue’s long-standing relationship, fans ship Kirby with Huerta’s character.
