Apart from his amazing acting talent, he’s also a renowned Martial Artist, something that he takes great pride in. Seeing all of his abilities, Sylvester Stallone wasn’t that surprised when he saw him get into an accident and walk out alive that many might’ve died in.

During the shoot of their then-upcoming film The Expendables 3, Stallone recalls a stunt where the Hobbs and Shaw star was test-driving a three-ton truck for their upcoming scene. While doing so, the circuits malfunctioned, which lead to brake failure. As a result, the truck went head-first into the sea where the shot was supposed to take place. This horrific crash could’ve been the end for anyone else, but Statham made it out alive. In a past interview, the Rambo star said:

“He was test-driving a three-ton truck and the brakes [went] out, luckily we had taken the doors off before. If anyone else had been in that truck we would have been dead because we were all wearing heavy boots and gun belts,” he recalled. “We would have drowned. But because Jason is an Olympic-quality diver he got out of it.”

Just goes to show how much of a bada*s the actor is in real life as he is in all of his films.
