Taika Waititi Went A Little Overboard With Thor 4!

Back in 2022, Hemsworth starred alongside Christian Bale and Natalie Portman in Thor: Love and Thunder. Being directed by Taika Waititi, the people felt that the movie was in safe hands (because Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok earlier). They were wrong.

Being a disastrous failure, the film was chaos with Christian Bale’s role as Gorr the God Butcher being a violent and terrifying menace. In an interview with Inverse, Bale talked about how some scenes from the film were deleted because they were deemed as too scary or too violent for a PG-13 film!

“Taika [Waititi] and me, we kind of knew that some of the stuff we were doing probably wouldn’t end up in the film, but we wanted to just push it and see. Ultimately, it is and should be a film that all the family can go and enjoy.”

He further continued,

“And Chris Hemsworth, a couple of times he looked at me and was like, ‘Dude, that’s a little too far. I don’t think anyone’s gonna want to see that unless it’s an R-rated film,’ but it was a great joy to give it a shot.”

Chris Hemsworth also felt that Thor: Love and Thunder was a disastrous failure, which he confessed in a recent interview. Stating that he got too much into the crazy zone, Hemsworth acknowledged that the film was indeed a terrible decision!

Naming himself as the victim, Chris Hemsworth recently revealed to Vanity Fair that he was responsible for the wackiness of Thor: Love and Thunder. Stating that he got too much into the comedy side of the story, Hemsworth admits that it backfired quite horribly.

“I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself. I didn’t stick the landing.”

Well, not to put salt to the wound but Love and Thunder became one of the biggest disappointments of the MCU with an average rating of 6.2/10 on IMDB and 63% on Rotten Tomatoes. With Hemsworth in the lead role, the 2022 film is available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
