The Cast Of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso Brings An Important Message To The White House

Speaking inside the briefing room with several reporters in front of him, Jason Sudeikis relayed his message for everyone going through tough times (via People):

No matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter who you voted for, we all — probably, I assume — we all know someone who has… struggled, that’s felt isolated, that’s felt anxious, that’s felt alone.”

The actor, who portrays the titular character in the show, encouraged the public to check on their friends and family members. He also added that people should take care of each other. He addressed the stigma surrounding the need to ask for help, and why some people are afraid to do so:

While it’s easier said than done, we also have to know that we shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help ourselves. And that does take a lot, especially when it’s something that has such a negative stigma to it such as mental health, and that doesn’t need to be that way.”

The Emmy Award-winning TV series first aired in August 2020, and while the show is coming to a close, Sudeikis told Deadline that they have “set the table” for a spin-off.

I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks… to get to watch the further telling of these stories. It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue, is lovely.”

Sudeikis also shared that the planned continuation of the series is a huge compliment for him.
