It’s a known fact that Pokemon Go‘s success can be attributed mainly to Niantic’s constant efforts to refresh the game with new content drops and updates. However, while introducing these updates, sometimes we get a few things that need fixing.
With the recent patch, we’ve received another one of these bugs, which has truly left the players scared for their lives!
Pokemon Go’s New Bug Has Traumatized Players
Well, there’s no doubt that Pokemon Go players have faced everything from their avatars becoming walking giants to being absolutely bullied by Team Go Rocket. Some of these bugs have had more major impacts on gameplay, making it impossible to even catch Pokemon. However, a few of these are just spooky.
Reddit user Warrior5240 shared their weird gameplay moment with fellow trainers. The Redditor had just tapped on a Ponyta to capture it. However, something went wrong, impacting how the mon’s model loaded. As a result, Ponyta’s entire body was transformed into metal!

The Redditor was confused initially, and after capturing the mon’, decided to restart their game. However, Ponyta went back to its normal state. It seems like the game didn’t properly load the mon’s body, or the viewable layers went out of order.
The moment has truly struck fans as weird yet amusing. One compared Ponyata’s appearance to the Terminator and joked about how Niantic has brought us an unannounced crossover! Others believe it’s a clear reference to Silver Surfer from The Fantastic Four.
Niantic Needs to Fix Pokemon Go Bugs
The current Pokemon Go season is Shared Skies, which has brought new Pokemon, Mega Lucario’s debut, and the return of Rayquaza. It’s one of the best seasons we’ve seen in a while, but the game still hasn’t managed to escape problems that disrupt players’ experiences.
In the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen tons of glitches that wreck the gameplay. The map glitch after the recent update didn’t allow players to load the game, and one update even bugged Buddy Pokemon.
Bugs can’t be escaped in online games; you’ll always come across them. However, the thing with Pokemon Go is that it stands out negatively in this respect. Even though Niantic is continuously working to keep the game interesting and stable, its efforts’ are clearly lacking.
If Niantic doesn’t get on top of these issues, eventually, player engagement will drop, affecting the mobile spinoffs’ long-term growth. It won’t be long before the player interest starts to wane.
