Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest stars in the world, known for his acting prowess, philanthropy, and fitness. Even at the age of 76, the former bodybuilding champion is as active as ever, whether it is in real life or on social media. Yet he knows how to maintain and keep a balance between the two.
After portraying the AI machine, Terminator, in his highly successful franchise, the actor is more than aware of the ill effects of such technology that is fast taking over all aspects of our lives. After previously having stated how the futuristic plot of his hit action franchise isn’t far, the actor recently in his newsletter warned everyone how technology is already killing us without us noticing.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals Technology Is Silently Killing Us
Arnold Schwarzenegger is not just a movie star or a bodybuilding champion, but he is also a true champion of the public in every sense. The actor is known for his numerous philanthropy efforts and advocacy campaigns as well as his political ventures. Even on social media, the actor is often promoting fitness and health among his many followers, advocating for a healthier lifestyle.
In a recent blog published on his Arnolds Pump Club, the actor advocated for a healthier lifestyle and warned his readers of the ill effects of today’s technology.
“We already know that too much social media can make you less positive, decrease happiness, and even reduce your strength in the gym. And now comes the latest reason to scroll a little less: New research suggests that social media use could contribute to chronic inflammation… Chronic inflammation is tied to high stress, loneliness, poor diet, and a lack of exercise or sleep. And it is linked to cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and mental health conditions.”
Stated the Austrian Oak, as he went on to count the many other detrimental effects of social media and technology. Well, it isn’t the first time that the actor took to such platforms to warn people about such issues, for he previously had also mentioned how the events of his Terminator movie are fast becoming a reality (see Business Insider).
Arnold Schwarzenegger Urges People To Limit Social Media
The internet is full of countless studies warning us of the many psychological and physical effects of social media and similar tech, urging us to stop or limit its use. Joining the call of many before him, Schwarzenegger too in his recent blog post advised readers to limit their screen time.
“We know kicking the social media habit is hard, so start with small wins. That could be avoiding social media to begin your day, before your workout, or once you enter your bedroom before going to sleep. You don’t need to go off social media entirely, but the less you use it, the more it might benefit your health.”
Ending the blog thanking everyone for being part of the village, the actor encouraged everyone to remain positive. Even at such an age when most actors would choose to retire to their humble abodes away from the public eye, Schwarzenneger’s advocacy and diligence towards the world is remarkable. If this isn’t a sign of a true people’s champion, then we don’t know what is!
