In 2015, Elon Musk co-founded the artificial intelligence research firm OpenAI. The firm is responsible for several tools one uses today including ChatGPT. At the time, it was built as a non-profit model. But by 2018, Musk left the company due to differences with co-founder Sam Altman over control and direction of the company’s future.

Musk and Altman have since not seen eye to eye with each other and now he is pissed at the direction that the company he co-founded is currently going. Musk has been highly critical of the company for going against its non-profit open-source origins to a profit-making closed-source company currently (via Forbes).

Musk recently took a dig at OpenAI CEO Altman through Sora, the new tool that generates videos from written text or descriptions. The tech mogul indirectly made fun of Altman on X, as he shared a screenshot of a user requesting a prompt as follows,

“A guy turning a non-profit open source company into a profit-making closed source company.”

The feud reminds one of two of the most scientifically intelligent minds from Marvel comics Reed Richards and Doctor Doom fighting over who is more intelligent and smarter. Musk is clearly not happy with what Altman has been doing with the company. It remains to be seen whether Altman responds to Musk’s dig or prefers to be silent about it.

Last year in November, it was reported that a biopic based on the life and achievements of tech mogul Elon Musk was set to be made by A24 (via Variety). Walter Isaacson’s book titled Elon Musk will serve as the source material for the biopic.

The film will be directed by Darren Aronofsky who is known for The Whale, Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream. A24 reportedly won the bidding war amongst many studios who wanted to adapt the book. The studio is known for bringing interesting films and this one is no different.

Musk himself expressed happiness over the project and the director chosen to tell the story of his life. On X, Musk wrote, “Glad Darren is doing it. He is one of the best”. It seems he is a fan of Aronofsky’s films and is confident that the director will do a good job with the biopic. It remains to be seen which aspects of his life Aronofsky chooses to focus on and which ones to avoid.
