But the 90-year-old actor also lamented the modern restraint that prevents the casual use of terms of endearment like ‘darling,’ deeming it somewhat uneventful.

Caine told The Daily Mail:

“Really? Seriously? What are they? We never had that in my day. Thank God I’m 90 and don’t play lovers anymore is all I can say. In my day, you just did the love scene and got on with it without anyone interfering. It’s all changed.”

During the same interview, Michael Caine also voiced his disapproval of what’s commonly referred to as “wokeness” or heightened political correctness on film sets, describing it as unexciting. He expressed frustration at the restrictions it imposes, preventing open expression and the casual use of endearing terms like ‘darling.’

Although Michael Caine is grateful that he’s not required to perform intimate scenes at his age, he has a history of such moments in his celebrated career.
