Elizabeth Olsen’s introduction to the MCU has proven to be very beneficial for the franchise as she became of the most powerful and fan-favorite chanters in the entire franchise. Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch is undoubtedly one of the most powerful beings in the current MCU, as she has the power to alter reality itself. Though initially, Scarlet Witch was not this powerful, at least not to the extent that she could alter reality and be one of the strongest beings in the entire universe.

It was not until WandaVision that she really tapped into her powers, the grief, pain, and suffering she had to go through after losing her entire family, her brother Pietro, Vision, and her twin sons finally tilted her into going down the dark path. Though many still debate over the fact that she was powerful enough to beat Thanos during Infinity War and Endgame, her powers say otherwise.

It is still an ongoing topic as to who is the strongest Avenger or who among them could beat Thanos single-handedly. The answers everyone has, will differ due to their own perspectives, one could say that the Hulk could be the strongest but he got his a*s beat by Thanos. Some say Thor is the strongest, well even Tony is against it so there’s nothing much to say.

But Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch was the only one who could firmly stand her ground against Thanos in a one-on-one fight and also pushed him to his limits which forced him to take severe actions like “rain fire” to get free from her. Social Media is convinced that she could have defeated Thanos then and there but her powers at the time of Endgame were not enough for Thanos, who was a genocide-hungry mad Titan to be defeated by the powers of a mere experiment conducted in a basement.

In the movie Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, we truly realized how powerful and terrifying Scarlet Witch truly is, with her powers and abilities multiplied due to her tampering with the Darkhold, a book that holds unimaginable power which allowed her to alter reality as per her wish. After suffering enough due to the loss of her family, the path she went down, gave her enough power to at least destroy the multiverse. Now, this is the power that could solo Thanos regardless of how many infinity stones he had, and the power she displayed during her skirmish with the Illuminati of Earth-838 was evident enough to overpower Thanos.
