Zack Snyder said that Gadot was the perfect Wonder Woman because she embodied the qualities of strength, beauty, kindness, and fierceness.

“She can get serious, but she’s amazingly fun to be around. And by the way, she really held her own with Ben in the screen test. Ben was like, ‘Whoa, that girl is something else!’”

However, Gal Gadot’s commitment to the role went beyond what was required by the script. In the Batman v Superman scene where Wonder Woman fights Doomsday, Gadot improvised a moment where Wonder Woman smiles, highlighting her character’s confidence and enthusiasm for conflict.

Snyder was surprised by Gadot’s unplanned behavior and asked her about it. She elaborated that Wonder Woman’s triumphant grin reflected her self-assurance. Gadot aimed to show Wonder Woman as more than a flawless heroine by giving her some edge, shadow, and gritty realism.
