Toph Beifong is a fan-favorite character in the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom. As one of the best-received characters from the show, the character is also an important part of the story as Aang’s Earthbender teacher, who also went on to sire some of the principal characters of Avatar: The Legend of Korra.

However, a thread on Reddit, wondered which character fans would put away if the choice was between Toph, Aang, Sokka, and Katara. Surprisingly, a lot of fans thing that the team could have done without Toph, narratively speaking. As outlandish as this thought it is, there seems to be quite the support for the notion.

While the consensus is so that ther was already a season without Toph, it must be noted that Toph was sought by the group as a master for Aang. Toph’s metalbending skills and other abilities were the reason the Gaang were able to escape some high stress situations. Not only did Toph teach Aang mental bending, but she was also the reason a huge part of the Fire Nation assault force was basically rendered useless.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 needs to make sure it does Toph right

Netflix has ordered two more seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which would indicate that the streaming giant intends to finish the sereis in it’s entirity. This would mean that Toph Beifong will be set to make her appearacne in the upcoming season, and it’s important that the show gets it right.

Toph is one of the heaviest hitters on Team Avatar, making her one of the most important memebers of the team when it comes to any situation that requires the team to fight their way out.

Toph had a lot of impact on the viewers of the show, as she remains a fan favorite almost two decades after the show has closed out. Along with her, the Beifong family are an important part of Avatar lore, with her family making an appearnce in Avatar: The Legend of Korra, a tradition that fans hope continues with the upcoming third Avatar series.
