Pig explores the themes of loss, redemption, and the search for meaning in life. The film received positive reviews, becoming one of the highest-rated films of his career, having a 97% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Talking about the film further in the interview, he said,

It’s something that I think people can get something out of, because tragedy is going to hit all of us at some point. It’s just a matter of when. 

Describing the film as a folk song, he emphasized that the indie drama is quiet and gentle while asserting that it contrasts with the more eccentric perceptions people might have of him. He also expressed satisfaction with his performance in the movie.
