Zachary Levi shared their original plans for Shazam! 2′s mid-credit scene was thwarted

Since the release of the Shazam! sequel, Zachary Levi has been pretty transparent with his fans about the troublesome production that led to the inclusion of Jennifer Holland in the mid-credit scene. During his live Instagram session, Levi addressed the matter and clarified that James Gunn’s wife Jennifer Holland, and Steve Agee weren’t the original choices to invite Levi to join the Justice Society of America. He explained that Hawkman and Cyclone were the initial choices but it was eventually scrapped. He said,

“That was not the original intent. The original intent was to have Hawkman and Cyclone be there inviting me [into the Justice Society]. Walter Hamada, Peter Safran, David Sandberg … we had an awesome scene that would have tied me into the JSA with Hawkman and with Cyclone and we were thwarted.”

The actor also explained that he isn’t blaming anyone for the movie’s poor performance at the box office as he went on to state, “I’m merely coming to the defense of the truth”.
