Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, and the rest of the Avengers are known for having a very close bond with each other. They have been working with each other for years now, being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a close-knit group. While this bond is already very well-known by all who know about the franchise, it is often tested by interviewers when in the presence of the cast.
One of the most frequently done practices is asking the present actors to text or call one of their castmates and see who replies first or if they pick up. This was made during an interview with Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, and Scarlett Johansson, who were asked to call an Avenger’s co-star and see whose call is picked up first.
Chris Hemsworth Called Robert Downey Jr
Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, and Scarlett Johansson rushed to get an Avenger on the phone, during an Avengers: Endgame fan event, via Legendas Universe, calling whoever they could think of first. The Thor star joked that he would call his mother and ask her to pretend she was one of them. At the same time, Johansson and Rudd came up with an idea and tricked this system.
The two, thinking quickly on their feet, called each other, technically having called an Avengers co-star. It was here that Anthony and Joe Russo, who were in charge of this game, called them out and told them that this was not allowed. After this, Hemsworth’s call was picked up, and it was none other than Robert Downey Jr.
Paul Rudd Did Not Recognize Robert Downey Jr
Robert Downey Jr. picked up the phone, having a small conversation with Chris Hemsworth. The interaction commenced, and the fans were ecstatic at the fact that Iron Man himself was on the phone. The entire interaction was ironically hilarious, considering the fact that Scarlett Johansson was the first to have called him, and he did not pick up.
“That was Robert Downey Jr?!” Paul Rudd said.
When the Russo Brothers established Hemsworth as the winner, they happened to slip who was on the call. Though the audience could have recognized that voice anywhere, it would seem that Paul Rudd wasn’t that skilled at this. The actor, upon realizing that that was Downey on the phone, was completely appalled, acting like a die-hard fan. This was extremely ironic considering Rudd is extremely famous himself.
