Although it seems like the John Wick franchise has probably come to an end with John Wick: Chapter 4, fans still can’t help but wonder if they will have one more sequel with Keanu Reeves in the lead role of John Wick.
Although John Wick: Chapter 5 hasn’t been confirmed, Keanu Reeves and the franchise director, Chad Stahelski, revealed some names of celebrities they would like to have in a possible sequel if they ever got to make one.
Keanu Reeves wants a potential John Wick crossover with Denzel Washington
Denzel Washington is very well known for his portrayal of the DIA Agent, Robert McCall, in the Equalizer trilogy. The Equalizer movies are pretty well-packed with action just like the John Wick movies, so a crossover would be really fun to watch. Keanu Reeves was also asked about a potential crossover on Reddit, “Has it been discussed for you and Denzel to ever star in John Wick x Equalizer crossover film?”
Reeves revealed that although a potential crossover has not been discussed, he is still pretty excited for this to happen. He said, “Ha…no…that would be crazy. Crazy good!”
Chad Stahelski talked about potential casting for John Wick: Chapter 5
Although there has been no confirmation from any of the cast members or production team members about a John Wick: Chapter 5 movie, Chad Stahelski, the director of all John Wick movies talked about some of the stars he would like to star alongside Keanu Reeves, if the franchise is continued for a 5th sequel.
In an interview with The Direct, Chad Stahelski revealed that the Oppenheimer star, Cillian Murphy was his top pick in a possible John Wick: Chapter 5 movie. He said,
“There’s a huge list, but just the first thing that came to mindset was Cillian Murphy. I’m a big Peaky Blinders fan. So, you know, I just think Cillian would fit right in. Colin Farrell is fantastic. Charlize Theron when she did Atomic Blonde, I saw that went, ‘Oh my God, I gotta work with this woman.’ She’s awesome. I worked with Michelle Yeoh way back on a commercial years ago, and I’ve been dying to work with her ever since. I’m such a huge fan.”
Although John Wick: Chapter 4 was a massive critical and commercial success, it will still be quite difficult to introduce a 5th sequel as the ending of the movie seemed a bit final, unlike the first three movies in the franchise.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently not streaming on any OTT platforms. However, the movie can be watched by renting it on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
