Christian Bale described acting on the sets of the movie as “monotony” as he was unable to “differentiate one day from the next.” He spoke about the confusion he had while working on excessive green screen sets since it was his first time doing most of a movie in front of a green screen.

“That’s the first time I’ve done that. I mean, the definition of it is monotony. You’ve got good people. You’ve got other actors who are far more experienced at it than me. Can you differentiate one day from the next? No. Absolutely not. You have no idea what to do. I couldn’t even differentiate one stage from the next. They kept saying, ‘You’re on Stage Three.’ Well, it’s like, ‘Which one is that?’ ‘The blue one.’ They’re like, ‘Yeah. But you’re on Stage Seven.’ ‘Which one is that?’ ‘The blue one.’ I was like, ‘Uh, where?’”

There are quite a few Marvel viewers who might agree with Christian Bale’s thoughts as Marvel seems to be overusing CGI, even when unnecessary.

Christian Bale is known for his method acting skills. He has often transformed himself completely by excessively gaining or losing weight for his roles and even getting into the character’s mind. However, he stated that no actual attempt was made by him to stay in the character of Gorr in between takes as he is too busy dealing with the distractions on set.

That would’ve been a pitiful attempt to do that, as I’m trying to get help getting the fangs in and out and explaining I’ve broken a nail, or I’m tripping over the tunic.

For an actor who goes to lengths for the character he is playing, acting in a monotonous environment must have been underwhelming, to say the least. Especially since Marvel movies have built a certain reputation. It seems like Christian Bale did not enjoy his time on the Marvel sets.
