James Gunn is a very big Hollywood personality now, and handling two multi-billion-dollar franchises simultaneously is not an easy feat from any angle, but still, he is doing a fabulous job with both MCU and DCU. Immediately after he was appointed as the co-CEO of DC Studios, Gunn brought on countless changes to save the dying franchise and rejuvenate their fans and followers. Out of all the changes he brought to DC, he faced the most trouble with the cancellation of Henry Cavill as Superman.

Well, since James Gunn is doing it for the betterment of the franchise, only time will tell if all the things that he is doing will end up for the good or bad. Apart from DCU, Gunn is the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise movies of MCU, he has directed all three movies with the third one to be released this year, in 2023. Now we all know that all the MCU movies are family-friendly and after Disney took over, the rules and regulations regarding this matter have tightened even more. But James Gunn is an enigma on his own as he went against all these barriers and dropped MCU’s first F-bomb.

James Gunn Drops MCU’s First F-Bomb and Bolts

James Gunn is a very interesting person and is quite tough to crack, his moves and motives are completely surprising for the fans of both MCU and DCU. Upon his arrival in DCU, the first thing he did was disregard Zack Snyder’s SnyderVerse, the only good thing that happened for DC. Along with SnyderVerse, he sacked Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot. They were literally the face of the DC Universe and yet just because they did not fit in the plan he had for the future DCU, they were dropped. He is a very hard man to control and predict in DCU and the fact that he could carry the same traits in MCU astonishes everyone.

“Apparently, from my understanding, the story goes that Kevin Feige talked to James Gunn and said ‘Listen, you don’t want to be the guy who’s known for having the first F-word in your movie.’ And James is like, ‘Yes, I do!’ Don’t you know me?! That’s exactly what I want!’ And so, they kept it in.”

James Gunn has been directing one franchise of the multiple franchises in MCU and he has produced some sensational stuff, the man is a legend. The way he brought on the Guardian onto the screen and carried them forward to be one of the fan-favorite proves his class and there is no doubt that the current DC is in good hands. But although he is highly praised by everyone, he went against both Disney’s rules and Kevin Feige’s warning to drop the first-ever F-bomb in an MCU movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This franchise will end with the trilogy and hence Gunn’s work is also done with Marvel, it’s like he came, he conquered and he left.

James Gunn Is All Set for His Gods and Monsters

James Gunn has taken complete control of DCU and his plans for the franchise are nothing short of a masterpiece. With the newly planned DC Bible that has the blueprint for the next decade, Gunn is getting ready for letting us experience the rebirth of a truly marvelous comic franchise. Gods and Monsters will have many movies and tv shows and will mainly focus on bringing new comic characters to the big screen instead of emphasizing the already-established superheroes and supervillains. Many nowadays are comparing Kevin Feige and James Gunn to be equals but until Gunn’s plans hit off, they are far from equals.

New movies and TV shows have been announced by DCU which will take on the big screen within the next 10 years and will most likely change the concept of heroes and villains. Gods and Monsters will have Superman: Legacy, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, The Authority, Creature Commandos, Waller, Booster Gold, Paradise Lost, and Lanterns. Recently, James Gunn has revealed that he has started looking for the lead role for Superman: Legacy, and as much as it hurts to say, Henry Cavill is out of bounds for this one. He has even said that though it is quite hard, they have some great choices and he is especially excited for it.
