Autograph is a very common concept associated with celebrities. The fans go to large extents to get the signatures of their favorite stars. But Bill Hader doesn’t want to get involved in autographs anymore after an incident hugely disappointed the comedian and the actor. According to the actor, he felt disgusted when he saw a man exploiting his child to get his signature in the dead of the night.

Besides being a prominent actor being a part of numerous movies, Bill Hader is also a successful comedian, writer, and director. The actor has been a part of a wide range of projects. He also worked as a voice consultant for the droid BB-8 in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What forced Bill Hader to not sign autographs anymore?

The stars can be seen often speaking about crazy fans and their feats. The Inside Out star also revealed a story while visiting the Happy Sad Confused Podcast. It also revealed why the 44-year-old doesn’t isn’t keen to give autographs anymore.

When Bill Hader spoke to Josh Horowitz, he revealed how he once witnessed a man sending his child to get his signature at 3 AM. As bizarre as it sounds, the Tropic Thunder actor said that he felt disgusted how the man kept the child awake till 3 AM so that he can get Hader’s autograph on a BB-8 merch for his own benefit.

“Autograph people don’t like me. I won’t sign things. I used to sign stuff, and then one time I saw somebody and they had their kid come up to me to sign a BB-8 thing and it was three in the morning. I was leaving the ‘Inside Out’ premiere and then we went to an after-party thing and it was super late and this guy kept his kid up all night. [He was like], ‘Go over there so he’ll sign it so I can sell it online.'”

That particular incident forced Bill Hader to never agree to autographs anymore as he found it too disturbing.

“I was like, ‘That’s f–ked up’. And so now, I just kind of blanket, like, I’m not signing any of this sh-t.”

Later in the podcast, Bill Hader added about how the Star Wars: The Force Awakens job was nothing special and could be done by anyone. The voice of King Pig in The Angry Birds Movie recently gained wide appreciation for his role as Barry Berkman in the popular HBO series Barry.

Among its many successful shows, Barry is also one of the major HBO projects that gained wide critical acclaim. The dark comedy series has gained immense praise from everywhere and has also won 44 Primetime Emmy nominations and has also led Bill Hader to 2 wins.

According to Collider, following Barry, Bill Hader has plans to direct a feature film in the future.

Barry can be streamed on HBO Max with the final episode of the series set to drop on May 28, 2023.
