Emily Blunt Was Furious At John Krasinski For Calling His Film A Love Letter To His Children

John Krasinski’s 2018 horror film, A Quiet Place became a global phenomenon, as it was different from other horror films that audiences have grown tired of watching. The movie was set in a post-apocalyptic world where deadly creatures would hunt by sound, such distinct features made Krasinski’s film a hit and it earned $334.8 million at the worldwide box office with $24.8 million additional sales.

During an exclusive interview with MTV News, The Office actor stated that the film is a “powerful metaphor for parenthood,” and how the Abbotts family lived in such a dangerous condition. He stated how he brought in his own as a father and as a husband.

“I was so moved by this incredible, powerful metaphor for parenthood. I know it sounds insane, but this is my love letter to my kids.”

However, Emily Blunt, who played the actor’s other half in the film as well was not impressed by calling the disturbing film a love letter to their children, and they should not watch it before they turn 40.

“That’s kind of messed up… Our children shouldn’t even see this until they’re at least 40.”

While Emily Blunt was not impressed by Krasinski, she shares an exciting update, and if she will make to return to the muted world of A Quiet Place for a third sequel.

Emily Blunt Updates Fans About A Quiet Place 3

Following the massive success of A Quiet Place 2 has silenced the critics with its massive box office earnings of $ 296.6 million with additional sales of $ 12.9 million in DVD sales. Paramount Pictures decided to update a third sequel of the film in February 2022, and it is hinted that the film will release sometime in 2025.

And much of the film’s details are kept secret. However, in a recent tête-à-tête with Josh Horowitz, Emily Blunt shared a few updates about the film, and how she talked to Cillian Murphy to be a part of the third film.

“Well, Cillian [Murphy] and I were having a chat with John [Krasinski] about it last night. We were sitting on a rooftop all together drinking wine and… (pretends to act drunk), ‘You know what would be great? Is if we keep this thing going…’ I think there’s… it would have to be that we would all do it together.”

Blunt shared her sentiments on how she would prefer John Krasinski to direct the third film as well  “I don’t want it to be with a different director if we did it again, yeah.” And in a different interview with Collider, she stated how the License to Wed actor had a whole set of ideas, and she gave examples of the first two films that were box office hit.

“He has a whole arc of ideas that could work. I think he just wanted to see how people responded to this one before he fully engaged his brain on the third one. But he has a couple of great ideas.”

Much to the disappointment of the fans, Emily Blunt did not disclose the intricate details of the film, or what fans can expect to see in the film. Therefore, they have to wait for an uncertain timespan to know more about the film.
