Netflix’s One Piece Live Action is almost two months old, yet the numbers keep racking up. With many people thinking that the show might go on as long as the anime, Taz Skylar had his opinion on this matter. Taz Skylar believes that the show will run until the whole cast is comfortable. If anyone feels something other than satisfied, then the show should come to an end.
The Strawhats from One Piece Live Action have been going around and doing a lot of interviews to promote their new series. People love these interviews since they get to know more about the cast and many of the secrets behind the camera. Many have compared the live adaptation with the anime and thought that it might run for 1,000 episodes. But Taz Skylar was clear about how long the show would run.
Taz Skylar On One Piece Live Action’s Longevity
One Piece Live Action is a blockbuster show produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix in partnership with Shueisha. The Strawhats have been doing interviews and promotional videos for the series. In one of the promotional interviews held by Collider Interviews, Taz Skylar was asked to give his opinion on how long the series should run.
Taz Skylar was clear with his answers. He said to Collider Interviews, “I’d like it to go for exactly as long as it takes to feel like it’s come to an ending that all of us are happy—and by us, I mean the greater “us” of us five and every single person involved. I want everybody to be proud of where we end up ending. I don’t want it to end short, and I don’t want it to run long. That’s my ideal.”
The fans might be worried, thinking that a change of opinion will be enough to stop the production of the series. But there is nothing to worry about since the whole cast is as excited as the fans. They will not stop being the Strawhats for quite some time.
Why Cannot One Piece Live Action Be Like The Anime?
One Piece Live Action can never be like the anime, and that is from the episode number point of view. The One Piece anime has over 1,000 episodes. Creating 1,000 episodes for the series will cost a ton of money and human resources. Moreover, the actors will also get old. If both the series and anime are compared, people will get a clearer vision of them.
The anime has massive arcs like the Paramount War arc, Whole Cake Island arc, Wano arc, Water 7 arc, Enies Lobby arc, etc., each taking more than a year to complete. Initially, the live action was planned to last six seasons. Depending on the cast and fans, it might be extended.
For the moment, fans can look forward to the second season of One Piece Live Action, which has been confirmed by Netflix and announced by Eiichiro Oda. One Piece Live Action is currently available on Netflix.
