Having pushed the boundaries of conventional filmmaking and superhero movies, there has only been one downside to them: the excruciatingly long time taken to make the next film. While the first film was released in 2018, its Oscar-nominated sequel was released in 2023, and now fans will have to wait 2-3 years more for its concluding threequel.
Beyond the Spider-Verse Potential Release Date is a Long Time Away
Animated superhero films hardly manage to create the impact that live-action movies do, yet, Sony’s Spider-Verse movies have proved groundbreaking. Shocking fans and critics with the power animated movies hold, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse showcased that if done right, even animated flicks can leave an indelible mark on filmmaking and the superhero genre.
While the first two films performed exceedingly well at the box office, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the final film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Originally slated to release on March 29, 2024 (via Deadline), the film was caught up in production issues and delayed by the twin SAG-AFTRA strikes (see Digital Spy).
It was later revealed that the production of the film started shortly after the strikes ended, but no release date has been announced as of now. While having no release window is in itself bad news, it is being rumored that the film will not be here for at least 2 or 3 more years. As per Marvel Insider, Alex Perez, the film is in production but is still a long time away from being released (via The Cosmic Circus).

Being a Marvel fan means enjoying some of the best superhero stories brought to life in live-action and animation. With countless characters and storylines, the possibilities are as expansive as the cosmos. However, the wait for these projects can often feel like an eternity.
