James Gunn assures that DCU is not Marvel 2.0
While explaining their approach for the new DC universe, The Suicide Squad director has made clear that the upcoming DCU will be nothing like their rival Marvel, and the filmmakers’ vision will be prioritized ahead of everything.
Even though the MCU is one of the biggest franchises in the world, its formulaic template over the years has led to some superhero fatigue among the fandom. The studio has also been criticized for not allowing complete freedom for a director’s vision, which led to a cooperate-friendly product and a mediocre experience for the fans.
