Henry Cavill finally made his comeback as Superman with the post-credit scene of Black Adam. After his debut as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, the actor reprised his role in a few movies. However, following Zack Snyder’s Justice League, he did not appear as Superman in any future DCEU movie. Now that the actor is finally making a comeback and not just fans Cavill himself is super excited about the film. The Enola Holmes star recently shared the news and confirmed his return as Superman.

Although many liked Cavill as Superman, some people were against the idea of Zack Snyder’s dark portrayal of Superman. After Snyder left the franchise further plans for future Superman movies were also delayed. Soon reports came out saying that with Zack Snyder’s departure, the British actor had also left DCEU and would not be portraying Superman in the future.

Henry Cavill Hopes to See a More Inspiring Depiction of Superman

Following his comeback in Black Adam, Henry Cavill took to social media and shared what fans can expect to see in the future. He said that the post-credit scene was “a very small taste of what’s to come.” He also said that he hopes for a better and bright future for the Kryptonian superhero in DCEU.

The actor is currently busy with his Netflix film, Enola Holmes 2. While talking about the film with Screenrant he once again mentioned his hopes for the superhero. The Witcher star mentioned that he wants Superman to be more inspiring for the people who follow him and love him.

“But the most important thing, which I will be aiming for, is for the audience to leave the cinema and to feel like they can fly, to feel like they can protect, and to feel like they want to give to everyone else. That would be my goal,” Henry Cavill said.

The Mission Impossible star also shared that he has had a close connection with the character. And he feels that there is something extraordinary about Superman. Cavill further said that Superman has an extraordinary capacity to give love and make people feel powerful.

Is This The End of Snyderverse?

With the 2013 Man of Steel, Zack Snyder intended to start the extended cinematic universe of DC, which is now known as DCEU. The filmmaker then directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

While many loved how Snyder presented Superman on screen, others were not so happy with the dark and dour depiction of the superhero in films.

Now that the Man of Steel is finally making a comeback, the studio has an opportunity to capitalize on a more joyful depiction of the Kryptonian superhero. Man of Steel sequel which is claimed to be more like a reboot, instead of a sequel, is expected to follow a new path for the character. 

It can also confirm that it would finally bring Snyderverse to an end. And now Henry Cavill himself has said that he wants Superman to be more inspiring rather than the dark version of himself. The studio has yet not confirmed the writer and director for the film.

Henry Cavill is currently starring in Enola Holmes 2 alongside Millie Bobby Brown. Enola Holmes 2 will premiere on Netflix on November 4, 2022.
