After filming the scene, they went for lunch, and once they came back on set, the movie’s director, Cameron Crowe, had again set the camera to get a “tight shot of the kiss.” However, Johansson, who believed that they were done filming the scene, had an onion sandwich during the lunch break.

“She goes, ‘Oh, sh*t! I literally just had… I had, like, an onion sandwich!'” the Jason Bourne star recalled her words. “I had to kiss Scarlett,” he said before playfully adding, “Can you imagine how horrible that was for me?”

Despite his initial shock that his co-star had an onion sandwich, Damon humorously added that the Oscar-nominated actress’ breathe still managed to smell “like roses.” However, it did not stop the actor from making fun of his co-star, as he shared during the conversation that he was making fun of her onion breath the entire time.

The actress herself is animal-friendly and has had reptiles, cats, dogs, and horses, and has said that it “felt like that zoo was kind of mine.” Johansson further said, “[Matt Damon] was definitely sweating a bit, and maybe the sweat formed in the corner of his eye.”

However, the situation was not the same for her co-star, who has admitted that he has a phobia of snakes. The Oscar winner admitted the same, saying, “I’m afraid of snakes.” He also shared that his co-stars “bullied” him into interacting with them.
