Andrew Garfield explained in the art book of Spider-Man: No Way Home, that the events of Holland’s multiversal adventure had re-inspired him, and it changed the life of his character, as he found “the purpose of his life.”
“It’s changed his life. He’s going back knowing that he has brothers. He’s going back in re-inspired to follow his destiny, his calling – the purpose of his life. By catching MJ, he got to make up for a terrible tragedy that he tried to avoid in his world.”
The Never Let Me Go actor, stated that his presence was meaningful in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home as his absence would mean the death of Zendaya’s Mary Jane.
“If he hadn’t been in Peter 1’s world, then it’s possible MJ may have met the same fate as Gwen. His presence was a purpose presence in that regard. And I think he’s going back with a mind blown about the cosmos and the universe and string theory and multiple dimensionality. He’s going back incredibly reinvigorated.”
Garfield continued and teased the MCU fans about his future as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man, as he believes “the story never ends,” regardless they film it or not.
“The story never ends, whether we film it or not. There’s a story happening in a universe somewhere. There’s endless potential with this character and all the different iterations. So, yeah, he’s definitely out there doing something.”
Andrew Garfield’s comments had delighted his fans, as sooner or later they might get to see the actor reprise his role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man taking on some iconic villain from his universe.

While there have been no indications that Garfield will return to portray the role of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in his franchise because the studio has already a lot on its plate. As they are extremely busy developing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse which has been delayed. Nevertheless, it is a great idea, and maybe one day Garfield will return with his third solo outing.
