Having spent more than a decade portraying Penny in The Big Bang Theory – the show that focused on the next-door girl becoming friends with geeks – Kaley Cuoco got the opportunity to properly explore her own geeky side by starring in Meet Cute in 2022.
The romantic comedy sees her character Sheila discover a time machine. She goes on to use the machine to relive the best date night of her life over and over. While in the movie, Sheila’s obsession to go back in the past threatened her future, behind the scenes her incredible chemistry with Pete Davidson led to rumors that it might have played a part in ruining her marriage.

Pete Davidson starred as Sheila’s date, Gary in Meet Cute. Fans got to see his adorable dynamic with Kaley Cuoco on their screens in September of 2022 on Peacock. However, suggestions about their interesting chemistry started to trend as early as August 2021 after the pair were photographed laughing together on the set of their movie.
In September of the same year, The Big Bang Theory star announced the end of her marriage to Karl Cook. Meanwhile, in the early fall of 2021, the stand-up comedian-turned-actor parted ways with Phoebe Dynevor. This was enough for many internet users to deduce that something was going on between them. Some even assumed their dating stint on and off the set might’ve played a part in the end of the actresses’ marriage.
However, speaking with Glamour, Cuoco set the record straight by insisting she and Davidson are strictly friends. She explained:
“We really became very good friends, and he truly is one of the nicest people in the world. I loved seeing him on set, how he was with fans and with the crew.”
Cuoco went on to add that Davidson, who became an internet sensation after dating Kim Kardashian, is a very humble guy in real life and doesn’t even realize how famous he is.

Cuoco and Cook, who’s an equestrian, began dating in 2016 and tied the knot in 2018, in a ceremony at a horse stable. Three years after her second marriage, The Flight Attendant star amicably separated from Cook.
Amid plenty of vicious rumors of why they parted ways, the former couple decided to clear the air by giving a joint statement to People, stating:
“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions.”
Nearly two years after splitting from Cuoco, Cook got engaged to entrepreneur and mental health advocate Mackenzie Drazan in June of this year. Penny of The Big Bang Theory has also long moved on and is dating Ozark star Tom Pelphrey. On October 11, 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child.
