Jeffrey Dean Morgan made sure to excite fans with the announcement of his casting in The Boys Season 4. While he has given the role enough hype, Morgan has been careful not to reveal any details about the character he is playing. Fans initially speculated that he could be cast as Tek-Knight, a character mentioned in the earlier seasons of The Boys.

In The Boys comics, Tek-Knight is a founding member of the Payback team and a parody of Marvel’s Iron Man and DC’s Batman. Fans’ speculation arises from the fact that Morgan could have played Thomas Wayne’s Batman if The Flash 2023 remained true to its source material, the Flashpoint comics. Unfortunately, Derek Wilson was cast as the Payback supe in Gen V, meaning that Morgan plays another character.

While the trailer for season 4 of The Boys hasn’t revealed who Jeffrey Dean Morgan is playing, it suggests that the character played by Morgan may be on Billy Butcher’s side. The two might even join hands to take down Homelander. The social media pages of the franchise have been mocking fan speculations about the character. However, considering the shocker value that the series provides, nothing can be confirmed as of now.

DCEU Failed To Explore Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Potential In The Flash

The Walking Dead stars, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, had uncredited roles as Bruce Wayne’s parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, in Zack Snyder‘s Batman v. Superman. Fans were excited about this casting, as Morgan could potentially play Batman if the cinematic universe were to explore the comic book storyline, Flashpoint.

Despite DCEU exploring the storyline in the underwhelming film, The Flash, Morgan did not get to play the role in the film as the story deviated significantly from Flashpoint. In the comics, The Flash ends up in an alternate timeline where Bruce Wayne is killed, and it is Thomas Wayne who avenges his son by becoming a brutal version of Batman. However, in the film, the speedster ends up in an alternate universe where Michael Keaton is Batman, teasing Tim Burton‘s Batman films.

By changing the storyline to tap into nostalgia, the franchise ruined a chance to explore an intense character, played by the apt actor Morgan. The Rampage actor earlier played an antihero role in another comic book movie directed by Snyder, Watchmen.
