The Brothers Sun episode “The Rolodex” is another satisfying outing with an enjoyable romance between Charles and Alexis. The last time we saw Charles, he was in the parking lot outside the K-Spa after surviving a bomb blast that killed Drowsy Lee. A cop car then approaches. Who was in the car?

It is Alexis (Highdee Kuan) who saves Charles and then brings her back to her apartment. Even though she’s not a cop, she was the one in the vehicle with police lights. She found the address off the phone at the coroner’s office, knowing the K-Spa location.

When Charles wakes up, he is injured, still covered in blood, and needs rest.

Netflix’s The Brothers Sun Season 1 Episode 5 Recap: Why does Alexis bug Charles’s Phone?

Alexis is an assistant district attorney who’s bound by the law. She is also an ambitious politician. So, when she goes to retrieve Charles’s (Justin Chien) phone at his request, she informs the police. It appears Alexis is using his permission for a reasonable search and seizure. A judge then signs an order to track the phone.

This was so disappointing because Charles and Alexis have this “Past Lives” connection that had serious heat and was even romantic. Charles had a sweet taste of what a normal life could be like in one day. Cooking, cleaning, watching daytime soaps, and welcoming home the love of his life.

We must wonder what would have happened if they hadn’t begun to bicker over Charles giving up his life and his father to be with her. (That wasn’t specifically said, but that’s my reading of the situation.) Unfortunately, we will never know. At the core of what Alexis was doing, yes, she served her, but she was also trying to give Charles a life rope to a better life.

Who kills Blood Boots?

Blood Boots is killed by one of Eileen’s abductors. She used an associate she knew would sell her out to reveal who was actually behind the series of attacks. They are called “The Boxers,” and they don’t want any of the territory, money, or power that comes with successful crime syndicates. They just want to know where to get the “Rolodex.”

Blood Boots locates where Eileen is being held and tries to sneak in, but the group of Boxers captures him. Eileen is told that if she doesn’t give up the information, she will shoot her long-time friend. Blood Boots, the ever-loyal soldier, accepts his faith because whatever she is hiding will kill everyone if handed over to the Boxers.

Blood Boots is then shot and killed. Eileen is saved when Bruce gathers his “aunties” at the location. They act as a shield because these young gangsters still respect their elders. The women then gently take their guns, put snacks in their hands, and walk Eileen out of the room to safety. However, the one talking to Eileen assures the group they now know her weakness, which is Bruce.

The Brothers Sun Season 1 Episode 5 Ending Explained: Who is The Rolodex?

It turns out Eileen is “The Rolodex.” When Sleepy Chen tries to tell Bruce what their mutual foe is after, he says “Luo Luo,” which Xing explains later means “Rolodex.” That’s because Eileen (Michelle Yeoh) has hidden notes from Sun’s family enemies, ensuring her safety and living a normal life with Bruce in the United States. Also, Ba could rule in Taiwan and be untouched by rival factions.

To keep Bruce (Sam Song Li) safe, she makes him memorize the “Rolodex” list. That way, if they use Bruce to get to her, they can’t kill him.
