While the game itself has performed poorly since launch and is subject to multiple negative reviews, there are those fans who still hold out hope for some sort of future for the title.

Many fans had purchased the $100 Bite Back Edition in the hopes that there would be significant content for the live-service title. However, it appears that all the planned content that was promised to fans for the game will not be coming any time soon. Recent developments appear to have put a stop to any further work being put into this title.

What Is The Latest With The Redfall DLC?

Bethesda has confirmed that they are closing studios, another blow to the industry.
Bethesda has confirmed that they are closing studios, another blow to the industry.

Well, according to an account on Social Media Site X, the DLC that many players had lost hope of ever seeing may be coming after all. The account going by the handle @JuiceHead33 posted an image that many will undoubtedly find surprising given recent news.

This will no doubt be slightly confusing, given the news that Arkane Austin is being shut down. However, it may be that developers are being instructed to work on the DLC and see it through to the end as some sort of compensation for the Redfall players who have been put out by the closure of the studio.

Many of the comments following this post have been unanimous in their denunciation of corporate greed and despair for the future of the industry. Given the ongoing layoffs throughout the industry, it is a worrying time and it appears that there isn’t a week that goes by where there aren’t redundancies. Many fans will be asking, how long can this carry on?

Will Compensation Appease Redfall Owners?

Those who paid for the Redfall Bite Back Edition can claim compensation.

As we reported recently, those players who paid the $100 for the Bite Back Edition of the game will be offered compensation. But no doubt there will be a certain amount of disappointment which comes along with this, given that Bethesda have decided to shut down several of its studios.

To put it bluntly, Redfall has been severely underwhelming since its launch. Looking at the title on Steam, it will be no surprise to anyone to see that it holds mostly negative reviews and the comments in the reviews only emphasise the frustration from players who were hoping that there would be a future for this doomed game.

Despite the reassurances from Bethesda that players will receive compensation, it is the empty promises from developers which perhaps don’t sit well with Redfall players. The Season Pass promises, which unfortunately will now never be delivered, leave the players who have invested their time and money into this title left with nothing more than an empty apology.
