The Exorcist is one of the most loved franchises thanks to its bone-chilling aspect of horror. The latest movie in the franchise, The Exorcist: Believer recently made its way into theatres and has managed to spook the audience in the best way possible, or at least, that’s what they want. It is not always that sequels work out and rarely so in the case of horror films.

It would seem as if the movie was not that well received by the audience, worse so with the critics. Surprisingly enough, these reviews are not proving to be an obstacle to what the franchise had initially planned, a trilogy. To kick that trilogy off, Believer was released. However, by the looks of it, the sequel is also looking strong.

The Exorcist: Believer’s Sequel is Still in the Works

2023’s The Exorcist: Believer was a highly anticipated movie. However, the audience found themselves polarized by what they saw. Although some were extremely fond of the film, many disliked it heavily, adding to a mere 23% Rotten Tomatoes score. The audience score is still much kinder, standing strong at 58%. The overall reaction has been more negative than positive. Surprisingly, that has no effect on the plans set for the intended trilogy.

The Exorcist: Deceiver seems to still be on track despite all of that. The movie’s response has been all but nice, but that does not seem to impact what the trilogy is set to give out. Being only the first film in a sequel trilogy to William Friedkin’s original film, David Gordon Green’s movie will have a lot to accomplish if the sequel really is a full-fledged idea. However. it is to be pointed out that there has been a lot of money already invested in the making of the three films, something even the DCU’s The Flash faced. It would seem that there has already been $400 Million spent in distributions alone.

The Exorcist: Believer Sequel to Go Through Various Changes

Seeing the disappointing reviews that The Exorcist: Believer has gotten, it would seem as if the eggshells have already broken when it comes to making a sequel for the film. However, $400 Million worth of investment by Universal is no small deal, so the idea to continue the franchise is understandable. As per The Hollywood ReporterThe Exorcist: Deceiver will be going through some changes before it makes its cinematic debut.

Despite its mediocre response, the sequel is still in the works. Although, it is not as if that response had absolutely no effect on the Deceiver. The movie will see lot of changes in order to fix some things and render others, perhaps bending more to what the audience wants.
