The Witcher is one of the many series that has a massive role in contributing significant viewership records to Netflix. But the show is presently nothing like how it started. With Henry Cavill leaving his iconic role of Geralt, the fans are also set to leave the show after the third season. Expressing their support for Cavill, the fans even started a petition for the firing of the writers from the show and it looks like it’s going to be one of the most notable protests by any fandom.

The news about Henry Cavill’s departure from The Witcher created an intense internet buzz. In a shocking turn of events, it was stated that Cavill will pass the torch to Liam Hemsworth. The fans revolt against The Witcher writers grow strong

When Cavill revealed the news of leaving The Witcher, he didn’t open up about any reason for his departure. Later various reports claimed that the Man of Steel actor left the show as he was not a fan of the creative changes done to the show by its writers and showrunner. This created a strong revolt among the fans who bashed Netflix and accused the streaming platform of ruining one of their greatest properties.

The Netflix show centering around the Geralt of Rivia was based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s works. The novels were further popularized by the games made by CD Projekt Red. Henry Cavill is one of the biggest fans of the source materials and even described his role as his dream role. Reportedly, Cavill left the show as the makers didn’t respect the source material and decided to steer the show in their own way.

Soon the fans started an online petition demanding the streaming platform fire the writers and bring back Cavill. In no time the petition was successful in garnering a huge number of signatures. In a recent YouTube video, it was reported that the fate of the show’s getting worse as it stands at 311,709 signatures and the figure is expected to rise further.

As discussed in the above-mentioned YouTube video, the recent prequel mini-series The Witcher: Blood Origin also received a 13% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It is evident that the fans would outright reject everything and The Witcher would not be the same anymore without Henry Cavill. With the Superman fame now working on his own Warhammer 40k Amazon series, the fate of the Netflix series looks anything but good.
