CW’s The Flash is returning with its 9th and final season and is expected to bring back some characters from the earlier seasons of the show. One of these also includes Teddy Sears, who joined the second season of the show as Hunter Zoloman, aka Zoom. The character who has the same abilities as the Scarlet Speedster is also known as the Reverse Flash and an arch nemesis of the DC superhero.
Season 2 featured Sears as the fake Jay Garrick. And as the actor is on his way to his comeback, a viral Twitter thread has led fans to question what the makers are really planning for Teddy Sears’ character in the CW series.
The Flash’s Final Season to Bring Back Teddy Sears
DC fans love Grant Gustin’s portrayal of The Flash in the CW show. The 33-year-old actor is all set for his final run as the Scarlet Speedster. Makers of the show have also announced the characters who will be returning in the final season.
Teddy Sears, who earlier expressed his wish to reprise his role in the show, is returning as Hunter Zoloman, and John Wesley Shipp is also expected to join him in the final season. Showrunner Eric Wallace said in a statement that Sears has been “one of the most memorable villains” in The Flash and will return in season 9 as well.
He also stated that John Wesley Shipp, who portrays Jay Garrick in the series, would reprise his role one last time in the season finale. “It’s a huge honor to have John back as part of our epic final season,” Wallace said.
He also shared that Shipp’s inclusion in the story “sheds new light on Barry Allen’s tragic past.” The season finale is scheduled to premiere in May, and a new Twitter thread has confused fans over Sears’ appearance in the series.

Fans Wonder if Zoom is Masquerading as Jay Garrick
Season 2 featured Teddy Sears as the Reverse Flash, who pretended to be Flash from Earth-3, Jay Garrick. Recently a Twitter user shared the Curve actor in Jay Garrick’s attire, leaving fans to wonder if the makers plan to revisit the same plot.

Because Hunter is still alive as seen in S5 of The Flash and Ezra’s Flash is absolutely clueless about the multiverse and about Zoom’s actual alias. This is literally just gonna be another fuck up of CW Barry’s due to messing with the timeline

Many also wondered if the actor would portray the character in the DCU and would try to deceive Ezra Miller’s Flash, instead. Many users also expressed their confusion as to why Sears is dressed as Jay Garrick if he is supposed to be Hunter Zoloman, aka Zoom.
Fans are discussing how Miller is unaware of Zoloman’s alias. People also claimed that the studio would be ruining “the one movie that is generating hype at DC,” if they planned to include the character in the upcoming movie following DCU’s scarlet speedster.
The Flash Season 9 is running on The CW network.
