Ezra Miller starred as Barry Allen in Justice League in 2017, and seeing there have been changes in the costume and overall vibe of the character, fans could not help but make comparisons.

Based on the iconic Flashpoint event, Barry finds himself in a reality in which General Zod has returned. There are no other superheroes left, except for a retired different version of Batman and an imprisoned Kryptonian.

The first official trailer premiered at the Super Bowl LVII, which served as a feast for every DC fan because not only it featured a first look at Michael Keaton’s highly-anticipated return as the Caped Crusader, but also Ben Affleck’s version. It also confirmed the return of Michael Shannon’s General Zod and Sasha Calle’s debut as Supergirl. The trailer was filled with action-packed sequences that lasted nearly three minutes.

Helmed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash will be the second DC movie of the year following Shazam: Fury of the Gods. There are still other remaining projects left from the DCEU for the year, but as far as the new DC Universe is concerned, a sequel to the Ezra Miller-led film is also reportedly in the works.
