The picture seems to be after the event was wrapped up and the fans are now rooting for the gaming legends to collaborate and give them an outstanding game. Kojima and Lake have created some of the best games ever released.

A few of the best games from Kojima include Death Stranding and the Metal Gear Solid franchise especially Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Sam Lake is the writer and director behind fan-favorite and critically acclaimed games like Alan Wake and Max Payne, so it is easily understandable why gamers would want the two to work on a game.

Players have previously seen Lake in Death Stranding and Kojima did a voiceover in one of Control‘s side missions. It would be a dream come true if they came together for a game. A fan stated on X:

I’m thrilled to see this. Hideo Kojima and Sam Lake are names that deserve to be side by side. Both such revolutionary and imaginative directors that create games that are nothing like people have experienced before.

One fan joked:

Watch out Hideo, he’s still haunted by the loss of his dead wife and baby girl. He never put the gun down he’s still out to cause some Payne.

Another added:

If these 2 co-directed a game together it would be the greatest incomprehensible mess I will ever witness.

Absolutely – and I would 10,000% play the hell out of it!

Kojima announced his upcoming horror game called OD or OverDose for Xbox that he is developing with horror film legend Jordan Peele, which as the director stated will bring a fresh experience for horror fans as it will be a game and a film at the same time.
