One of the most frequent names in the list of most beautiful women in the world of all time, Monica Bellucci is nothing less than a glamorous beauty icon, even in today’s day and age. First starting her career as a model back in the 1980s only to join Hollywood in the early 1990s, the now-58-year-old stunner has scored several important roles in numerous hit movies, including two films from the Matrix movie series, for one to count.

Monica Bellucci got married within little to no time during her inception in the modeling industry in 1990 with the French-Italian photographer, Claudio Carlos Basso, who further helped her with her career. However, this ‘love at first sight’ didn’t last for too long, as the pair split up within six months.

Appearing in an interview after that, The Matrix star revealed why she stopped working with her husband after she got married. The interviewer asked her,

“After you got married, you said, ‘I can’t work with my husband anymore because it’s like the magic is broken now.’ Why? Between photographer and model, what is this magic? It’s because you know each other too well and you can’t work together anymore?”

To, this Bellucci replied rather honestly:

“Because I think it’s a kind of strange game, sometimes a bit ambiguous, a kind of play. When I work with a photographer, I play a part, I play a role. There can be different roles depending on the dress I’m wearing. And the photographer, to give you the best, flatter you, tells you things that you pretend to believe, and from this little magic comes the photo, that’s why I think photography is magic. [Like, it’s a fake seduction scene from the photographer too.] You have to believe it. The girl gets seduced. It’s all fake, and they both know it’s fake, but that’s okay.”

A little later after this interview, the Italian actress moved on with her life with actor Vincent Cassel during the mid-1990s.

After working together on many projects and after dating for several years, Monica Bellucci finally tied the knot once again with Vincent Cassel in 1999, and their romantic love life went on until August 2013, when the pair decided to separate.

Nonetheless, The Matrix star still reflected positively on both of her ended marriages. She said,

“I thank my two husbands for what they gave me and what they taught me about life, in an unconscious and different way.”

While she had other sparks here and there with several different stars during the years following, as of now, Monica Bellucci is currently dating the American filmmaker Tim Burton, as confirmed by herself after numerous dating rumors.
