Arrowhead has set the benchmark for other studios with Helldivers 2 at a time when live-service games are still considered a risky move given the number of failures. On the flipside, the game’s popularity has become its biggest issue at the same time, with players unable to get into the game thanks to packed servers.
The Arrowhead title teased Mechs arriving in the game for a long time, and now that they’ve finally arrived, it has become even more crowded with players getting server errors more frequently. Helldivers in the game have been anticipating the Mechs, and now that they’re here, it’s become one of the most favored armors to stomp around on a battlefield.
Players Can Finally Stomp Down Enemies, but Only If They Can Get in First
The Mechs were initially discovered by two players who stumbled into them while completing random missions, and it took a lot of hard work by everyone playing the game to liberate Tien Kwan to get access to the stomping machines.
The Mechs come with 1000-round machine guns and 14 rockets and provide players with much-needed assistance in the fight against the Automatons and Terminids. With the release of the Mechs came a new round of server issues, as expected.
Developer Arrowhead has acknowledged the increasing server issues blocking players from entering the game following the release of the combat machines, the Mechs. Mechs became available in the game after players liberated Tien Kwan.
We are aware of an issue with players not being able to get into the game. This happened when the Combat Walkers became available. People rushed to get it and it overwhelmed our Backend. We are working to fix it as soon as we can. We want you to enjoy the Mech as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt also released a statement on X about the server issues and players having a hard time coping with them.

Players are getting hit by a message that states “Services will be restored eventually” as they continue to wait for the issues to be sorted, with a lot of patience and frustration.
Helldivers 2 Players Are Also Facing a Mission Rewards Bug
Another frustrating bug for some players is not seeing the Mission Rewards message after completing a mission. It’s usually displayed in the end brief, and this also seems tied to the server issues.
One of the developers of the game acknowledged it and mentioned it as a “visual bug due to the backend part of the server (basically player loot/data) being overworked.” The dev assured players they would get their “medals/samples eventually.”
Helldivers 2 sales have been going through the roof and have been keeping gamers on PC and PlayStation busy ever since its release. Even with the bugs and glitches that are usually expected from a live-service title, the Arrowhead game has been a huge success. Fans will now hope the title’s server issues don’t last long and any future issues also get eventually fixed at the earliest.
