Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a sequel to the 2018 film, is going to pay a huge tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman who played the role of Black Panther in the first film, and is also set to introduce an interesting set of new characters, including Tenoch Huerta as Namor the Submarine, and Dominique Thorne as Ironheart.

With Wakanda Forever just ten days away from its official release, fans are on the edge with excitement, and Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore seems to have raked that already fervent fire even more as he hinted towards the possibility of a Black Panther 3.

In a recent interview with Collider, Nate Moore talked about the future of Black Panther after its sequel and the possibility of a third installment in the franchise. When asked about it, the VP of Production and Development at Marvel Studios claimed that the film’s crew has decided to see how Wakanda Forever plays out first before taking any major decisions with regard to a third movie.

“We really want to see how audiences receive the film, and I think Ryan’s really interested to see how the film plays before we decide,” Moore noted.

“There are certainly ideas we’ve floated around of what a third film could be if we get to make it,” he said, pointing out that both he and Ryan Coogler are curious to see the response that Black Panther 2 earns from its audience before setting the course for a third film.

Is there going to be a Black Panther 3?

Moore has dropped certain easter eggs about adding a third film to the franchise by revealing that there have indeed been thoughts and ideas swirling about the subject. But as the producer remarked, much also depends on how Marvel fans respond to Black Panther 2.

“Right now it’s like, let’s see how people respond to this film,” he observed. “But the hope is audiences demand that we make another one and certainly, there have been ideas thrown around. So we’ll see.”

On the other hand, Coogler has been more reserved about the topic; in one of his recent interviews, when asked about whether he would be coming back to direct Black Panther 3, the filmmaker dismissed the subject by saying that he was completely focused on his current projects and doesn’t have any thoughts about a third film at the moment. And while Moore seems to be up for it, Coogler is more inclined to get done with the projects at hand before jumping onto something new.

Regardless, the Eternals producer’s keen interest in making a Black Panther 3 is still a positive sign about the future of Wakanda.
