Call of Duty has been around for quite some time and has been a hallmark of the video game industry. Each major entry has generated enough hype and anticipation but the upcoming title has achieved something monumental that older games have barely achieved.

Previous titles have been lackluster but the build-up for this year’s entry is unlike any other. Activision and Microsoft are doing everything to revitalize the franchise in earnest and the previews have piqued the interest of the gaming community and achieved something remarkable.

The Upcoming Call of Duty Made History on YouTube

The marketing campaign for this year’s title is in full swing and with one promo, the gaming community believes that the developers shared a sliver of the theme of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 which is exciting. Ever since the official trailer dropped, it has now the most-viewed trailer in the history of the franchise.

It appears that the game developers are doing everything in their power to ensure that this entry will not be like the previous ones and want to make the franchise great once more. The developers even went out of their way by taking inspiration from the original concept art for this iteration which could be their way to pay homage to what came before and build upon the success.

It is worth mentioning that the official site inadvertently gave the gaming community the first unofficial look at Russel Adler which could either be unintentional or a slick move to generate even more hype by revealing a fan-favorite character. Regardless, any attention is good attention and this year’s entry is shaping up to be one of the best.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Can Redeem the Franchise

It is rare to generate this much hype and Activision better not drop the ball and waste it. The players have noticed the drastic decline in the quality of the single-player campaigns from recent entries compared to classic games and hope this will break the streak after a brief but promising official description.

This could be the year for the franchise to get out of the trenches and give the gaming community the game they deserve. It is time for Activision to give the single-player content the same level of effort they are giving the multiplayer content and focus the campaign.

The developers are not daft and are well aware of the criticisms surrounding the franchise. Perhaps the combined efforts of Treyarch Studios and Raven Software will present something fresh for the long-time players and give them a reason to not give up on the franchise.

Some are carefully optimistic about the outcome of the final product and for good reason. The fear is still there that it might end up being another lackluster story. Views are not a metric for success but only time will tell.
