The Last of Us 2 Remastered version was announced late last year and is now coming out on the 19th of this month, which is just a few days away. The game is said to include a few additional levels compared to the original sequel, named Lost Levels. These are levels that were not part of the sequel and are said to be unfinished levels, with the director’s commentary stating why these levels never made it to the final cut.

There is also new cinematic commentary featuring actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Shannon Woodward, Neil Druckmann, and Halley Gross. The original sequel had a guitar mini-game, which is being expanded to give players a free-play mode.

This mode will let players choose between different characters, including Ellie, Joel, and the composer for the franchise, Gustavo Santaolalla. The mode will also include a banjo and a steel resonator, allowing players to be creative as they play the instruments.

The game is also said to make the most of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense Wireless Controller to give gamers an immersive experience. Players will be able to feel a crossbow’s tension when they draw back an arrow or the kick of a shotgun, thanks to the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. This extends to a simple walk in the rain or when playing fetch with Bear the dog.

Features that debuted in The Last of Us Part One, including audio descriptions for cinematics and speech to vibrations, will return in the upcoming remaster for the sequel as well.

New Roguelike Survival Mode No Return Included

The roguelike mode, No Return, will allow players to choose characters who were previously unplayable.

Players are also looking forward to the multiplayer, roguelike survival mode, No Return. It was also featured in the trailer, and it was mentioned that players will be able to choose between 10 playable characters. This includes many fan-favorite characters who were not previously playable. Each of these characters will have their own unique play style, traits, and starting inventory.

Players will face off against randomized encounters with remixed levels, enemy factions, game modes, and random gameplay mods. Death in this mode is to be permanent, but there’s always a new randomized run for players to restart from.

Players can also look forward to a speedrun mode, which adds a timer on completing the main story. Apart from all this, the remastered edition will give players a bunch of new character skins, improve the game’s photo mode, and be visually enhanced to match other PlayStation 5 titles.

The Last of Us 2 Remastered is arriving on the 19th of this month and will cost $19.99 for players who do not own the original sequel. Gamers who own the original sequel that came out back in 2020 can simply upgrade to get the remastered version for just $10.
