A lot of stars from Hollywood have already confirmed that they are avid gamers and many are fans of titles like The Last of Us. This includes one Madame Web co-protagonist, however, it is not Sydney Sweeney or Dakota Johnson.
In fact, it is Isabela Merced, star of the films Dora and Sweet Girl, who has come forward about playing and preparing for her upcoming role in The Last of Us TV show. The young actress was cast in the role of Dina for season 2 of the HBO series, which is one of the most important characters in the game.
The Madame Web star is a methodical actress who has devoted time to preparing for her upcoming role
As Sony’s Madame Web nears release, one of the actresses, Isabela Merced, is also preparing to play a part in the The Last of Us. Dina, the character Merced will be playing, is the love interest of Ellie, and Merced has confirmed that she is already gearing up for the role.
In an interview the actress had with The Hollywood Reporter, Merced confirmed that she played The Last of Us Part II. Once she heard that Neil Druckman, the creator of the game, and Craig Mazin wanted a meeting with her, she ran through all of The Last of Us Part II, very quickly.
According to the actress:
I had already watched the show, and so I went to my friend’s house and played
The Last of Us Part II all in one weekend on the PS5. It was amazing. It did 25 hours of gameplay.
It is certainly impressive that she has devoted such time to appreciate the source material, and it will hopefully make her an even better Dina.
Isabela Merced is excited for her upcoming role
Madame Web’s protagonist said in the interview that she watched the show, played the second game, and that it was wild. While she has played the sequel, Merced did reveal she has yet to play the first game.
She appears to really like this title and seems to be looking forward to playing such an important role in the second season of The Last of Us.
The main narrative in the second game is all about revenge, and the consequences of ones actions. The second season of The Last of Us will be released at the beginning of 2025, according to HBO and it will cover the events of Part II, introducing Abby, a very particular character who takes revenge at any cost.
This will result in a very dark period for Ellie, who is also going after vengeance after losing someone very loved by her. Both games of The Last of Us are available remastered for the PS5, for those wanting to relive the events before the TV show returns.
