PS5 is undoubtedly this generation’s most popular gaming console, and it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that Sony has cemented its dominance once again. Despite being affected by the Global Chip Shortage, the console is also on its way to overtake Sony’s previous console, the PS4.
Sony has been mindful of every step and has ensured players access the console’s best exclusives, ecosystem, and immersion environment. Sony has recently pushed the latest system update for the console, but fans still have a few features on the wishlist, and they have no clear idea about when they will be implemented.
The latest PS5 system update offers some decent quality-of-life improvements
As per an article published on the official PlayStation blog on March 13, 2024, the system update has been rolled out globally, and the PlayStation app will receive an update later this month. Some improvements implemented in the update will enhance the console owners’ experience.
The enhancements are as follows:
Audio input and output enhancements for the DualSense
As part of the recent update, the following improvements will be applied to the controller:
- Louder sound from the controller’s built-in speaker.
- The controller’s built-in microphone has been improved to enhance noise cancellation using an AI model.
- If one desires, one can adjust the volume of the sounds coming from the controller from the control center.
Share screen interactions and enhancements.
While it doesn’t directly affect the core gameplay experience, console owners will appreciate the following changes:
- Viewers can interact with the shared screen using pointers, draw lines, and annotate areas to guide the player.
- They can also add emoji reactions to express their feelings about in-game actions.
- The feature will be rolled out later for the PlayStation app, but users can turn it off.
Changing the Brightness of the console’s power indicator
One can now change the Brightness of the power indicator on the console by going to [Settings] > [System] > [Beep and Light] and selecting [Brightness]
The PlayStation 5 is a console that has been appreciated by players worldwide. While all of the changes are made for a decent experience overhaul, they still don’t consider the features that the users have been requesting.
What are PS5 owners looking for?
In the comment section of the particular Facebook post by PlayStation UK that was used as a medium to announce the system software update, fans can be seen requesting features they think are more vital for their experience.
Definitely needs themes again…
When you gonna bring back themes
Bring back browsers themes and cross audio so I can use the mic in my controller and have my party come threw the speakers on my tv
Wow more features I don’t use
It seems like Sony is doing good work ensuring that its console owners get a more fulfilling experience but can’t consider what they want from their console. Hopefully, it will listen to and implement these comments and requests soon.
