There are not a lot of people who hold the aura to shake the likes of Dwayne Johnson to the core, but it’s understandable to see why this was the case when Johnson came across Clint Eastwood. Known for playing one of the most badass characters in fiction, the Man With No Name still possesses his charm and the actor’s contribution to the craft of movies remains unparallel.

But the actor wasn’t always the man who stood out from the herd, as the Unforgiven star even struggled to pull off a single line in a movie at the very beginning of his acting career.

Clint Eastwood recalls his early days in the movie industry

Although it’s impossible to imagine Clint Eastwood being nervous, this was the case for the actor in his early days in the realm of cinema. Reflecting on Revenge of the Creature, which marked the beginning of his career, the actor revealed that despite having a few lines, he struggled to pull those off. However, the other factors that added to his nervousness at the time involved a behind-the-screen disagreement, as on one hand, the producer was satisfied with the actor’s delivery, but the director was not so much. Eastwood recalled,

“It was one line in Revenge of the Creature. They brought me down, the producer brought me down and wanted a scene in the picture where I had to come into a lab to talk to John Agar… At that time, the producer loved it and the director hated it. The director stood there and just chewed out, put me down something awful. And I was a nervous wreck anyway at the time.”

But it won’t be the case for long, as the actor kept on garnering more experience in the field, and in the present, even a man built like a god can be intimidated by the legendary actor’s presence.
