Katee Sackhoff is one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood currently. As such her appearance in The Mandalorian as Bo-Katan pleasantly surprised many. And after the third season when a lot of new details about her character and involvement in Din Djarin’s life came to light, people are hoping to learn a lot more.

On the topic of this, Katee Sackhoff said in a recent interview that there is one particular character from Bo-Katan’s past she would love to see come to life on screen.

And that happens to be none other than her sister Satine Kryze. In fact, she even has an actress in mind who would be perfect for this role. The only problem here seems to be that the character is long dead.

Katee Sackhoff wants Cate Blanchett to play her sister

In a recent episode of the Steve Varley Show, Katee Sackhoff talked about her own interpretations and interests regarding her character in The Mandalorian.

Especially on the aspect of whether she ever thinks about any hypothetical timelines with events that never materialized in canon like the relationship between Bo-Katan’s sister Satine Kryze and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Noting she always thinks about these things, Sackhoff explained,

“I’ve definitely questioned who Bo knows. Like, who does Bo know in this world? What does Obi-Wan mean to her? What has happened to them in the past? Who is he to her now? All of those questions go through my mind. And I don’t know.”

Although she also noted that Dave Filoni might already have a lot of these answers. She elaborated,

“I’m sure Dave [Filoni] has all the answers to all of this stuff. That’s the cool thing about Filoni is that he already has all the answers to all of this stuff. It’s just a matter of whether or not I get to be privy to it or not.”

She also expressed her desire of exploring Bo-Katan’s past in more depth with Filoni, especially where her sister is concerned. She noted, “I wish that we could talk about Satine. I think Cate Blanchett would be amazing.”

However, as the character is already dead, it would be tricky to introduce her in the series even with fans being extremely happy about having Cate Blanchett in the Star Wars franchise.

Satine Kryze might finally make an appearance in Star Wars

Satine Kryze, although a Duchess of Kalevala in Mandalore, wanted to live her life in peace. Not only that, but she also wanted to lead her people into living a steady, peaceful life and forget about their bloodthirsty past.

However, The Mandalorians being a warrior race, most did not agree with her, including Bo-Katan. Incidentally, her story not only clashes with Bo-Katan but also overlaps with Obi-Wan Kenobi, who used to be her love interest.

Unfortunately, in a blind bid for vengeance, she was murdered by Darth Maul in front of that very Jedi Master. As such, this adds even more layers to not only their history but also the history between Obi-Wan and Bo-Katan.

And while this seems like an intriguing area to explore, especially as the character was already introduced to the masses in The Clone Wars, it can prove to be extremely hard to execute in live-action shows. Especially in the current storylines both The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi are on.

As a result, the only plausible option that seems to be here is going on flashbacks to familiarize her with the audience. That actually could be a great option as it would explore and develop both Bo-Katan and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s characters a lot.

However, if it will actually come to happen remains in the shadows for now. While there is no guarantee as of yet, fans can surely hope as Katee Sackhoff even went ahead to give her own opinion on the matter publicly.
